It's 11:30pm and I just got back from the briefing for Vanilla Coke. Grabe this is really tiring since I still have to review my theo notes for tomorrows x2 quiz….

A big fat F

Yes, I got a big fat F in my second theo long test. If this doesn't get a person down, I don't know what would. I really didn't expect an F, for crying out loud! Waaaaah! Waaaail! I was anticipating a lower grade or maybe by some miracle a higher grade than before because Dacanay is really unpredictable, well I guess I proved my point. He gave me an F! Has he no heart? No consideration at all? Well, Ann double checked my answers and it turns out that I focused on the wrong things!!! How sad….you study so much and just because you focus on the wrong things, everything goes wrong! That's why I'm quite nervous about tomorrow's test.. I already read Melina's article and my notes as well but I don’t feel like I'm ready. I don't feel like I know anything at all. Huhuhu. What if I answered it wrong again? I hate this apprehension, it really gets me down. I know very well that this kind of anxiety is what gives me a D in philosophy well, I shall not let myself be snared in theology this time! No, siree. You readers probably think I'm nuts coz I seem to be talking to myself, well that's life. When you're feeling all these mixed emotions, you just gotta let them out. Let them all out.

Just a hint of vanilla

"Vanilla coke has the same great taste of Coke with a hint of vanilla….blah blah blah" This is part of our spiel for the Vanilla Coke promo tour. I don’t know if I should be flattered but I got in the first batch of models for the "groundbreaking" this Saturday. Well, they just asked us to read and deliver some of the spiels. Now that I think about it, I shouldn't be flattered. I mean I'm studying in Ateneo and if I don't get in the first batch (under the criteria) it would be such a shame.

Anyway, they let us all taste Vanilla Coke, finally! I really like it. It's like tasting ice cream and then tasting Coke. The flavors don't get mixed up even though they are together--like a distinct fusion of flavors, mmmmmm! By March 1, Vanilla Coke will be available in all supermarkets that have Coca-Cola products! Yey!

Getting back at my shift, do you know that I got assigned at Eastwood this Saturday? From 7:30pm till 12:30 am! Ohmigosh! And as a saftey precaution because of our costumes, our talent fee will be given next week pa. I hope it's worth it! I heard it's P2000, sana…

My place in time

While I was on my way to the briefing a while ago, I felt really down. Maybe I was just tired from reading Melina but whatever it was, it made me reflect on what I really want to do in life. Well, I couldn't find anything that I really wanted to do at that moment. While I was in the car, I saw lots of office people in their corporate suits. I knew the 9-5 desk/office job would not be suitable for me. At that time, I felt restless; I wanted to do something exciting but I just don't know what. I was then thinking about being in TV as a broadcast journalist, it didn't appeal to me either as well as baking or even modeling . Everything just seemed so bleak and dreary, like everything and anything I did was weighing me down. Even being a housewife made me feel tired. So I just stopped thinking about it altogther….hehehe

Right now I'm really sleepy and tired but I still have to review Melina, I can't take any chances anymore, I don't have the luxury.

The Art of Cramming

I just finished my last article for Guidon for this school year, oh what joy! Izzy and I teamed up and i think applause is due because we did the entire article (including interviews, research, writing, etc) in just 3 days! We have almost mastered the art of cramming!

Of course procrastination deserves its share in the limelight, too. I kept pushing this article at the back of my mind for 2 weeks! I think this was the longest time that we were given to work on an article. But as my friends know, there is a certain exhilaration, a beautiful rush that comes to you when you're out to beat the deadline. Well, we didn't really beat the deadline but we did submit closest to the deadline! Yey! This is so pathetic.

What do you call that disorder when you're paranoid that you're sick?

Anyway, i think i have UTI urinary tract infection. I downloaded an article about it on the net but haven't really read it. So i'm offering my speculations right now.

First, i had a burning sensation while peeing, i think my thing had trauma over the pain that it wouldn't let me finish peeing although i know there was still more left. After a while it went away.

Second, although i think this is not connected--there were orange oils coming out of me! Like i took xenical or something! But i didn't, i just remember eating at a Chinese restaurant. Hmm, could it be the crab or the shrimp or the shark? Anyway, it went away after a while.

Third, there was blood in my urine. Now this is really scary and it totally freaked me out. Burning sensation + Blood. At first it was just a drop so i forgot about it. Then next day, there was a lot, so i thought i was gonna have my period. But it had a different consistency and it came out from where urine comes out too! But then, it went away after a while, too.

Fourth, the left side of my lower back is hurting. I believe that's where one of kidneys is. And it doesn't feel like muscle pain or anything. This is really weird.

Well, i'm depressed about this thing because i don't know the cause, i don't want to see a doctor either. I specualate that it's from poorly washed underwear. Our maid went away so my sister is washing our laundry but the undies were kinda dirty pa rin, she only used clorox recently.,..oh well, i hope it's not what i think it is.

Vanilla Coke

I'm supposed to go to the gym today coz i got in the promotional tour of Vanilla Coke. SO I need to loose my flab fast! The people from the agency actually noticed that i got fat, how embarrassing!

Sans the fat part, it was an ego-boosting experience. The go-see was held at St. Francis Square Mcdo and i was the first one to be interviewd. But i wasn't really interviewd, i don't if it was bec Mr. Valera from Ads in Motion knew me already (i worked under him for Coke light before)or that my 2 minutes was used up when he answered his ringing cellphone.

Anyways, 2 girls were chosen among the multitude to be presented at the Coke office in King's Court Makati and i was one of them. The other girl, Allen, told me that Mr. Valera said we were already accepted. She rode with him going the makati so she knew about it.

When we were there, we tried on the "costume" for the tour. It's a black halter dress, knee length kinda a-line with big frills on the end. It's really nice and decent looking, you could actually wear it for a night-out or something.

In a Hurry
Yes i'm in a hurry coz we're supposed to go to the gym at 1:30 although feeling ko hindi matutuloy since oli is still in xavier playing basketball, i think we might watch four feathers. i think i have to go know coz my back is hurting again from controlling my pee.

I'm bad! That's why i'm just gonna recycle my feature article from last sem's Intro to Journ for my PR personality profile that's due tomorrow! Well hey, that's not plagiarisim or anything since i was the one who wrote it din.

Hehe. I'm justifiying my "disvalue" if i may call it that. I got home at around 9pm from my finger-injuring theo long test! my poor index finger looks squished and it hurts from writing too much! And as if that's not enough pain to endure today, i have a PR paper due tomorrow, GMA practicum requirements and Prod presentation on Wed, Theo orals on Thurs and times 3 Quiz on friday for theo!

Hell week to the max! I think even the devil will want to get out of hell if hell was like this! Gosh! Oh, and i have a guidion article due on Monday and i haven't done anything yet. History LT will be next week pa thank goodness!

There's so much i want to kwento but i have to go and rest! And edit my recycled paper a bit! haha
02.14.03
LOVE BUG!

I cannot put into words how excited I am! It's Valentine's already and i'm not sleeping yet hehe! Yey, i can't wait to finish my Theo class later and go out with Oli na! and of course watch the Boyz II Men concert! I hope we get good seats!

I really hope things go well for this very special day that i really prepared for, maybe not completeley, but in some aspects at least!

Not completely because i still can't wear that red dress i was hoping to wear this Valentine's but i'd like to believe that i'm on my way to getting back in shape again hehe i have faith!

But let's not dwell on the negative. I finished baking the BLACK FOREST CAKE that i've been intimated of for a long time. Now that i've baked it, i'm not so much intimidated but there's still a lot of baking stuff that i need to learn, especially with cakes.

There were quite a number of things that went wrong..like i couldn't find one of the ingredients in the baking supplies stores and in supermarkets near my place. It's a cherry liquer called KIRSCH. So i ended up buying brandy instead. I'm not really sure if it's a good substitute, but hey it's used in fruitcake and that's all i know!

I think if ever Oli manages to finish the whole cake (8 inches) or maybe even half of it, he might end up in the hospital or in his room for several days! Why? Because there's 8 large eggs, a pound of confectioner's sugar, lotsa Emperador brandy and the most fatal: whipped cream!

Yup, whipped cream! It kills us both! We like it, esp. when served with coffe or waffles from Starbucks, but i guess it's not reason enough for our organs (i dunno which) to get blocked and make it hard for us to breathe (uh, lungs or trachea?)

Back to the things that went wrong: i think the cake itself should've been cooked longer. I mean, the instructions said that i should cut the cake horizontally in half but i couldn't do that coz it was kinda thin and uneven hehe! So i improvised with 2 layers na lang instead of 4!

Another thing is the cherry filling keeps on dripping. I hope when i see it tomorrow, it'll be frozen like ice so there will be no more dripping! I placed it on the second level of the refrigerator and turned the thermostat to FREEZING! hehehe

Anyway, i think i won't be able to post this entry right now as in 1am in the morning of FEB 14 coz Oli and I are talking na on the phone...happy valentines!

Btw, it's POOFY's second Birthday today! =)

F.L.U.

Ugh I feel sick! I feel too warm for comfort, my head aches and I have a cold. Boohoo! I caught this silly cold last Tuesday from my nephew when I was cramming my PR project (to no avail, coz I submitted it way past 5pm. Read: 6:30pm) He's just around 2-3 years old but I was particularly vulnerable to germs that day so when he stayed at the room adjoining mine, with the air-con opened, I instantly caught it.

Then I think I gave my driver the sniffles too since I was sneezing in the car and Malou was cougihing and sneezing too when she hitched a ride with me, so it could be any one of us.

It doesn't end there because Oli visited me a while ago and on his way home, he texted me that he suddenly had a cold na rin! That is odd since I was taking particular measure not to "directly contaminate" him, if you know what I mean. Well, I guess my sneezing while we were in my room must have been powerful enough to affect him as well.

Zen Method of Eating

I went to the gym yesterday and guess what? I gained 10 pounds! This is HORRIFYING! This is TERRIBLE!

I'm tired of diets that I always start well but never finish or stick to at the end. I wish there is a kind of diet that my body and mind would easily adapt and stick to.

I know for one that HERBALIFE is really effective as in super because I could see results in merely a week's time. However, the problem is that it's a bit high maintenance with all the stuff you have to remember to take.

So I've decided to try the Zen Method of Eating, as I read it at the gym. Before eating you're food, you must look at it carefully and take in the beauty of the colors and texture of the food in front of you. Then, take a bite or a nibble and savor the taste in your mouth; let the food linger as your taste buds register the different flavors of the dish. Finally, swallow.

Well, it guarantees that you'll be fuller sooner than you expected and with less food and calories in your stomach. I'm trying it out coz I'm a real fast eater, thus I consume more than I should. I'm just on my first day today but I shall continue on until it has become integrated into my daily routine. WISH ME LUCK! WISH ME TO BE THINNER! haha

I think I better go now or I might forget to do my beauty routine again and get more zits and darker circles around my eyes! Aaargh! Ciao hehe

January 24, 2003. It's 11:20 and what am I doing? Reading other people's livejournals, reading my PR notes, reading the PR take home exam, looking for a good recipe of Black Forest cake. I'm also fixing the space bar of my keyboard. I tampered with it some time ago when I was feeling like a professional keyboard cleaner and what did I do? Pop the thing out of its socket and now I still can't figure how to get it back in the right position. I guess my sister who's supposed to be sleeping at the other room just has to bear with all the clickety-clacking noise.

I am such a silly impulsive person. I was feeling kinda pissed off and depressed a while ago so I decided to cheer myself up. I asked Ann, Mel and Rom out on a date tomorrow. Well, it turns out that Mel's the only one available. So I guess it's an official date haha, I'll be the lesbian this time! (hi Rom: Precious Princessita!)

Anway, after the orientation at UP, Mel and I will head to SlimmersWorld at Atlanta (thank God they lifted that pathetic 1pm curfew!) and then catch a movie at Galleria. That'll be around 5 something and the movie will end around 7pm. This all sounds nice but looking deep within my soul, I know I have a hidden agenda: Pre-occupy myself while Oli's not around.

It's not super bad because I did tell Mel, Rom and Ann that this was reason behind my asking them out. Yet, this does not change the fact that I did it. I know it's wrong and I'm starting to feel rotten about it but it's too late to back out. Besides, I want to know what will happen to me, like will I feel any better or will it just be skin deep?

I've got to get a hold of myself. I'm basing everything I do on my silly emotions! St. Agustine and his lower faculties! Argh! You know what I shoud start doing? Control those passions/emtions. Lately, I've been feeling sluggish. I get home, eat and try not to include rice, lie in bed, open the TV, fall asleep, talk to Oli, go to sleep. I am such a pig! The do-my-homework part suddenly disappeared! Sigh. If I continue this, my grades and my life will certainly hit rock bottom. Earth to Grace, wake up!

Here are my goals…they say it's easier to stick to them if they're actually written down.

1. Lose 10 pounds! (Yes, I didn't believe the weighing scale myself when I saw where it was pointing to!)
2. Study and do homework everyday!
3. NO CRAMMING!
4. Read "overdue" books! (Night shift, Tex, Can you sue…., Bridges of Madison County, Endangered Pleasures, A Stranger for Christmas, Men are from Mars…, Boy Meets Girl, Lose Weight, Feel Good…, Idiot's Guidte to Massage, Taste Berry Tales, HeartWarmers, The Rescue, What to Say…, Maya, Dust to Dust, ETC.!) Get what I mean?
5. Go to the GYM regularly TTHS!
6. Stick to Beauty Regimen (putting lotion, clease-tone-moisturize, etc: they're investments!)
7. Be Nice to Oli! (no selfish tantrums, please!)
8. Save Money! (read: no impulse buying)

There are of course a gazillion more but I have to end now. Part of my beauty regimen is to get some beauty sleep too! Ciao!

It's the day after the fashion show and things went really crazy last night, grabe! i already had this feeling that things might not work out too well judging that the organizers were just highschool sophomores...well murphy's law strikes again! hehe The most common and expected problem was money and that they were minors. i had to sign the silly contract because i was an adult, kind of an assurance that they'll pay the venue in full. Well, they had to raise 50,000 pesos. I think they had the half covered and the other half was to be gotten from ticket sales. As i learned from our (oli and i ) previous attempt to organize a huge party at some posh place, not everyone you expect to come will show up so it's really bad to base your money from ticket sales alone. Well i didn't think they knew that and i didn't want to meddle rin naman hehe. Oh well. So it was like 8:30pm and most of the people who were around had complimentary tickets and were the friends of the band members and not the organizers, how ironic! The organizers themselves were having internal problems and it seemed that everything was going wrong. But at least the fashion show pushed through, if you could even call it that. hehe. I think 3 major blocking changes were made due to unexpected turn of events. Well we did model but then me and 3 other models made a booboo. It was kind of a follow-the-leader thing so when the one in front of the person in front of me made a wrong turn--that is going down the stairs which we weren's supposed to yet--the people after her followed suit. What's worst is Oli didn't see me! hahahaha that is absolutely so pathetic! he didn't notice me yata and he was expecting that i'd pose somewhere near his table like what the other models did but my group made a mistake so we didnt get to that part! Hay, utter chaos talaga and very taxing on time and effort. But i don't completely regret it naman kc i made new friends =) It was kinda fun but stuff just went wrong during the day. I guess it's gonna be one big learning experience for those kids! hehe

i miss my oli.....la lang he went to play bball with his friends at Xavier and i miss him terribly huhu but if it's any consolation, i was with him for a short while kanina before the fashion show rehearsals kc he visited me.
I just found out that the fashion show was part of my friend--Tina's elementary class reunion. Instead of making it simply an eat out thingie, they decided to do this crazy stuff of thrwing a huge party complete with 9 bands and a fashion show at National Sports Grill! They even have tickets printed out! Entrance is P200 a person.
Hmmmm, i suddenly have a bright idea! Why don't i prepare something similar for Oli's birthday or some other special occassion, you know to surprise him and all. Greenbelt's new My Cinema was on the list of possibilities na rin. Hmmm...i wonder. It seems kinda outrageous but that's the point that i want to make. Someday, when i already have the means (read: money and connections!) i'd throw a huge dance party with bands, fashion show, buffet, live television coverage, show it on the internet via webcam and whatever else new technological break through there is! Isn't that so cool?!
Wala lang i feel like doing something big! Studying for my theo quiz tom sounds so boring and petty, besides i like reading my notes of Fr. Dacanay's lecture better than reading Schillebeck or whatever his name is! hehe!
========================
You know it seems that the first few months of the year are the 'on' season for product endorsemetns thus modeling stints. I got three calls in a span of two days?! Really weird! First, STAGES calls and tells me to sign a contract coz their gonna send my pic to some VTR and if i get in the final screening and they can't show a signed contract, the TAO casting organization will ask them to pay a fine. Well, what if i didn't get in diba? Then ARM Casting calls up and wants me to go to a super rush shampoo VTR, the tape of which will be sent to Hong Kong daw tomorrow! Well, i couldn't make it even though i was in the Makati area, i had previous commitments na and sabog rin buhok ko hehe. So i don't konw if that's gonna push through but tomorrow after class, am going to their office for a new VTR, wearing jeans and for the shampoo thing na rin cguro in case a similar project comes along. And another thing, they wanted me to wear mini skirt and tube for i dont know what maybe a lotion commercial or something but i don't want to and i can't rin coz i fell down the stairs twice very recently and i still have numerous bruises all on my right leg! Isn't that so pathetic?! Lastly, my friend Rhea, whom is my "sis" [as she addresses me} in another agency called CLICK, asked me go with her to Baguio for the Flower Parade. It's 3thou with free food and accomodation. She said we just have to wave and smile while on the float. Very enticing but i'm not sure if i wanna go or if my parents would approve.....Flower Parade is next weekend na raw, mel said. and it's in Baguio! I'd surely participate if it's somewhere near that doesn't need 6-8 hours of travel time...oh well, goodbye 3thou! Pahabol pala, this makulit and wrinkly old feeling young agent daw siya ni Pilita Corales ba or Imelda Poppin called me up again and kulit kulit grabe! He was the one who introduced me sa STAGES kc kapitbahay nya ung head and this another connection of his sa MOD Magazine, ilalagay daw ako sa new magaine nila called Cover Girl. Whatever. He's been telling me that since September ata or something and it's 2003 na and he's still telling me the same thing....i don't like guy agents, you can never be at ease with them much more trust them!
ANYWAYS...
I'm tuned in to Channed 7 of Global Cable, singing my lungs out to the vid-ok thing on TV. It's releasing. I don't feel so lonely anymore...i probably just needed something to keep my blood pumping.

Hindi ko pa pala kinukwento yung DJ thing! Anyways i was baking last sunday and i usually listen to 89.9 while i bake. Then i heard the DJs inviting people to help them introduce songs sa final countdown so i decided to text in na rin. I mean what's there to lose right? But i never really thought they'd call me up or something since i bet there were hundreds who wanted to be heard on air din. I remember Ela telling me that she joined something like this rin.. so anyway i was doind crinkles at that time yata and i really wasn't expecting anything anymore i almost forgot about it na nga. But then the phone rings and my sis hands it to me, it was Miles! She was like, "So grace, wanna be a DJ?" "Yup" "Let me here your introduction" Oh my gosh! I mean i really thought they'd give me a script or something and i'd just write it down and read it over the phone! I'm really bad at impromptu things so i was like fumbling with the words, i was really really nervous! But i guess Miles was used to it so she just told me to write it down so i wouldn't forget my lines and i should try to sound happy daw kc i seemed sad hehe. I was supposed to introduce the number eight song in the countdown which was Matchbox 20's Disease. I was so nervous in trying to prepare my spiel that i forgot to tell anybody about it! Awww,.I told my mom to tune down the radio then close it altogether coz i didn't want her to hear me heheh shy ako! So my turn came and they tried to relax me a bit by asking me stuff and chatting about how i spent my Christmas. Well, i spent it with Oli so we talked about things like how long have we been together, you know stuff like that then after like one minute or so i introduced the song na. Joey and Miles sounded so happy on the air, i wonder if i did too hehe. I guess i'll never know!
i just came home from a reunion..which means lots and lots of food! This is so bad i am seriously getting fat! My mom and i went to nafnaf kanina and i bought a red top! Half yipee and half not coz althought i got a new top, it's a size bigger than what i usually buy! BOOHOO! Kasya pa naman ung size 0 sa akin pero masikip na so i just opted for a size 1 so i'd have something immediate to wear. This just validates that i have added poundage over the christmas break boohoo! Even my dad said that my arms got big! heheh i promise that is shall start working out again by January 2! I hope i keep this resolution coz initially i told myself that i should have gone back to my normal size by Jan 3 since oli will be having a reunion with his classmates but i don't think it's possible! hehe It's just so hard to control these days! Mel's Tina Juan Book has been telling me to lose weight but it's hardly working at all without my personal conviction to do so hehe
Promise na talaga i shall start when 2003 comes around! Happy New Year!

What's up? How's it going?

January 2025 became a positive turning point. I was still on edge when we went back to the Philippines for Chinese New Year. I didn't wa...
