The Great Pretender

Riiight... It could be true though, coz actors are great at pretending...
Take this test at Tickle

You could have been a famous Actor

Marilyn Monroe? Veronica Lake? Humphrey Bogart? A scene-stealer like you could have been any one of these legendary entertainers. Like Hollywood's acting elite, you've got loads of charisma and charm, and you know how to use it.Whether you're turning heads on the way to work or making the rounds at a party, you're a people person who loves basking in the spotlight. With your bold spirit and magnetic aura, you're sure to brighten up any room and leave your adoring fans spellbound and begging for more.

In life you can make your own decisions or let other people make those decisions for you. Being Above The Influence is about staying true to yourself, and not letting people pressure you into being less than you. So be yourself. Or be something less. It's your call.

Who Were You in a Past Life?

Preparing for a Masquerade

Hmm... i think there's something wrong with this mask.

Aldrich and I are hosts for the upcoming Ariba R3 Celebration and it's a masquerade party...so i went to Toy Kingdom and found some masks.

This mask seems to have sad eyes and makes my cheeks sweaty

there's got to be a better one! some catwoman-like masks i hope!

Ode to My Mentors

I felt like the food critic Ego when he first sampled Linguini's Ratatouille - i was taken back to vivid memories of the past. Not my childhood but the wonderful times in my last team.

They say that it is only when something is taken away from you that you begin to appreciate it.. that is so true for me.

I already did appreciate my mentors long before, but not as much now that they are gone or not my direct leads anymore...

To Joyce and Ekky - if ever they come across this blog of mine...

I want to thank them for bringing me where i am now. I had more exposure with Joyce but even the short time with Ekky allowed me to learn a lot of things in being a leader.

Joyce is my 'idol', as Anna said in her farewell letter, she's tech and func rolled into one and that's something i want to achieve too. It helps you become self-sufficient in times when others cannot deliver. From Joyce, i learned how to deal with interfacing teams which is a plus in the job and she gave me the confidence to belive in myself. She would entrust new responsibilites to me and I in turn, would feel appreciated and this made me strive to live up and even try to excced what is expected of me...i was motivated to give my all, give my best.

Ekky (and I agree with Anna again) is a good leader. She's the one who instilled in me that everyone should have something to do - that there should be no wasted time. This shows how one is able to delegate and manage tasks effectively. I like the way that she makes each one of us feel that what we're doing is important and showers us with words of encouragement and praise. Starbucks helps a lot too!

I think that Joyce + Ekky is a great combination because both of them were able to focus on their respective level's tasks. I guess that's why the Test Team is always prompt in completing the CAMS, Self-assesment and all other admin tasks.

Those were the days when I was part of that great team....

Now I am out to prove that all that my mentors have taught me have not gone to naught...i will not let them down because they cannot be called successfull if I myself do not succeed...

"There is no success without a successor"

Thanks again...i am forever grateful.

Garfield Hates Mondays

and why shouldn't I?

I arrived at the office @ 9am, i got out @ 9:30pm. Just great! That's an additional 3 hours of overtime to my already 13 hour stack...just great!

They better give me something in return for all this hard work...hmph.

Enrollment for the 2nd sem is tomorrow and I'm not really elated with the schedule. If i want have all my classes in RCBC, i'd have a Monday Ethics class and a Wednesday Financial Accounting class.

Monday! The first day of school is on my birthday.. and it's on a Monday!!! Nooooo...
Either there's a lot of mosquitoes in my room or im having some kind of allergy... lotsa weird pantals appearing on my arms..weird!

Food I Regret Eating..

Here's a list of food that i regret eating... i wish i hadn't tried them at all!!

1) Ice Cold Espresso (brewed in you table) from North Park

- i had to brew it myself

- it's too strong.. I got home and felt uber-hyper, pukey, woozy, shakey and just crappy in general.

2) Vanilla Soy Ice Cream from Chimara

- i had to stick out my tongue and say 'yuck' after every spoonful. It was a very 'yucky' experience

3) Flower Iced Tea from Heaven and Eggs

- no matter how much honey or sugar you add, the taste of eating raw petals just won't be erased from your mouth. Just order good 'ol reliable iced tea!

Saturday Night

I'll definitely categorize this under 'Mood Swings'

I feel a teeny bit crappy and a bit tired and a whole lot 'na-eewan'... or maybe i'm just tired.

I had 13 hours of overtime this week...yuck. Who wouldn't be tired??

Sometimes i just wish i had no worries in life... i know my problems are petty compared to others but this is my life and my worries are what concern me right now...basically, what to do with my life.. plans plans plans

I can't think straight when I'm feeling this way...

I think i need a vacation.. my VL request is even in the brink of not getting approved just because one of my colleagues is also on leave that day. But why can't we go on a leave together???

We are just SSE and SE. What' s the purpose of our Lead if we're the ones who seem indispensible??? Grrr...

I want my leave. August 24. That's Aldrich's birthday. I'm in a cranky mood right now and will not accept see any reason :( hmph!

Sigh. Can i lay around just like this panda?

Microsoft Outlook

I'm particularly pleased with my Microsoft Outlook 2007 at home :) I'm using it to read and send mails from my Yahoo and Gmail accounts through the POP function and also linked an RSS Feed of my Blog there!

Right now, i'm creating this post also in outlook, through the web browser view!

No more numerous Mozilla or IE web browsers to open! :) :) :)

I guess this is all possible because of the following things (at least on a personal scope)

1) I have a PC at home!
2) I was able to get a hold of a copy of MS Office
3) I have DSL connection!

Especially the last one i guess since it's relative new to me. I've been a prepaid card user all my life except this year.

Let it not be taken away from me now or all these will come back to nothingness..

What's up? How's it going?

January 2025 became a positive turning point. I was still on edge when we went back to the Philippines for Chinese New Year. I didn't wa...
