Hello World

I had a great time yesterday...

Lunchout with ASCAP peeps for Gherette's birthday! We even bought him his favorite mocha cake with candles :)

Then I was able to offset 2 hours woohoo! Even though I left at 5:15, there were times that I was not really doing work but talking on the phone so I offset those hours with my previous overtimes. That made me feel accomplished already haha babaw

I met up with Edward at around 6:30 at Metrowalk and proceeded to sing until 1030pm at Platinum KTV. The rates there are per room so it's a bit expensive if there's just two of you, but it was definitely fun belting out Britney spears' songs, oldies like Buttercup and Dancing Queen and crooning to the sounds of Bryan Adams and Aerosmith. We also sang Kaleidoscope in tribute to the late Man of Manila - Francis M.
I liked Kisapmata and Harana too...I discovered an old song called Next in Line and the lyrics and message of the song is nice....different from the pop beat songs I usually sing haha

Edward mostly sang the typical guy songs and rock ones which made me remember Arvin who's in Pittsburgh right now with Tin.

We actually didn't eat dinner because the food was expensive inside the KTV so it wasn't worth it. We had free fries though and I had cappuccino at Starbucks afterwards.

Even though I had fun yesterday, I still miss Aldrich a lot. We just had our Saturday webcam session and it's just not the same without him. But i guess this is how it's gonna be for the next 2 or 5 months and I think I'm gradually getting the hang of being more independent than I'm used to.

I'm off to the gym right now to watch a movie in Cinefit while walking on the treadmill. Afterwards, I'm gonna do my MktMgt paper somewhere in the mall coz it's hot at home.

I won't be going to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee play later @ RCBC Plaza coz I have church choir practice. No biggie really, it's a bit hassle to go to Makati again anyway. I'd rather go to church practice :)

I need to fight off my inner 'sadness' and 'loneliness' demons.

We Were the Mulvaneys

I'm always up, watching TV, it seems that I don't want to give my mind rest.. It seems that I am running away from something. I watch these shows with rape and violence and it affects me... I empathize with the characters - their fears, their pain, their suffering... I feel all of them.

I get tired emotionally.. but why do I do this? Why do I drain my energies... maybe because I'm sad? Trying to hide away from my own emotions and feeling others' instead?

I want my life to be something more than waiting for someone to come home.. but it's difficult.. I try to be strong but the uncertainty is a killer.. I don't want to feel my own pain. i can't handle it.

Tears roll down from my cheeks.. are they for me or are they for the characters I see on TV?

The world is an unbalanced place. Life's a bitch and I've got to deal with it..:(

fashionistas

I just came back from Rockwell where I visited the Rockwell Urban Bazaar. One thing that I can say after making the rounds in the stalls manned by young girls, "I'm definitely from a different generation."

The clothes of the girls and the way they talk... definitely not part of my generation. Maybe at par or even upping the 'conyo's of my generation.

It's TV I tell you!

March 11 Wednesday Church Group Meeting

Not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves. 2 Corinthians 1.12.

The principle of Christian living is to rely on the will of God and not on one’s cleverness, to depend on the grace of God and not on our own wisdom. This is a lesson we need to learn. Suppose some action is put before you, but you do not know whether to do it this way or that, or not at all. You have no idea which is right. So you begin to deliberate on the effect of whichever action you may take. If you do it this way or that, what will people say? You therefore try to be clever. How? To say or to do that which will meet the least problem and avoid the most opposition. By following this policy it means you have forgotten that God’s children do not live on earth by human cleverness. To be a Christian is really quite simple. You merely ask one thing: “God, what do You want me to do?"

So many decisions in life that I battled with on my own or pestered my boyfriend about.. I wish I had asked God first! Life would have been so much easier!

God would have probably hindered my from that 3000 Zunic 'donation' I made... tsk tsk tsk

Everything seems to fall into place now,,, I see the pattern of my mistakes.. I should put a post it in my wallet and credit card...

and right now...

God, should I go to Rockwell on the weekend to visit the Urban Bazaar?
God, should I go to Megamall on the weekend to visit the Crocs 80% sale?
God, should I even consider buying a FitFlop?

the best thing to ask God on a daily basis: God, should I eat this? God, should I buy Starbucks? God, will eating or drinking this make me feel better? God, should I sleep or go to the gym?

God, what do you want me to do?

Lemon Chicken

Alone on a Friday once again..

After class, I went to Paseo Center to try and eat at Teriyaki Boy but it was closed already. It was fortunate that North Park was still open. I've been craving for Lemon Chicken for quite sometime now.

I had Lemon Chicken, 1 cup rice, fresh lemon iced tea and house tea :)

Yumm yumm!

What's up? How's it going?

January 2025 became a positive turning point. I was still on edge when we went back to the Philippines for Chinese New Year. I didn't wa...
