GLOBE OPTI-SIM: 128 K!
Yey, my patience has finally paid off! I've been waiting for eternity to get more inbox and phone book memory because i keep replacing old ones. As much as possible, i don't want to erase anyone in my phone book coz i've learned my lesson that i'd never know, one day, i might need that person's contact number! As for the messages, i only have 30 max so i'm using 29, meaning, i keep on erasing each message i get. Very hassle especially if it's a message that i have to keep, so i've managed to work around it by always having a pen and my little notebook around.
Well now, i guess i can discard of that notebook! The new Globe Opti-SIM has 750 phone book memory and 100 inbox memory. The lady i called up at 730-1000 said i should just go to any Globe Business Center to upgrade, its only P600 pesos and btw, it's for G-plan subscribers only. Whew, lucky i switched to G-Mix.
That's all for now.
P.S. Oli and I watched Finding Nemo yesterday at Theater Mall (atrocious prices! P130 per person, gak!) The movie's really really nice although we didn't get to watch the start. The pixar-Disney cartoons are so good! (Monsters, Inc, Ice Age, Finding Nemo!) CIAO!

What's On My Mind...?
What's on my mind….?
On Getting Thinner
My friend is taking a diet pill called Reductil. In the two weeks she's taken it, she's already lost five pounds and indeed has looked thinner. The effects are loss of appetite /cravings, and you get thirsty often.
She relates to me that even if she's hungry, after taking a few bites, she's satisfied already to the point that she feels that she would gag if she eats some more. Cravings are a thing of the past, too and seriously, I myself could attest to it because the last time I was with her, she had cravings for everything sweet! She craved for ice cream and she did buy ice cream, she was craving for Starbucks, and she did buy a frappuccino, she was craving for Donuts, and she did buy munchkins Her cravings were quite uncontrollable, with or without the monthly period. But now, no more cravings and just thinking of the oily fast food makes her want to throw up. The getting thirsty thing, she said was pretty easy to remedy: she drinks a lot of water. DUH.
Basically, for those who don't have enough discipline, Reductil helps you get to your goal. I still can't attest to its safety, though. But my friend said she interviewed the people she knew of the effects and any symptoms about the drug before using it.
Big results are said to come in a month's time and it's not that expensive either. The instructions only require you to take one pill a day, but a 10g pill costs P100. (15 g = P130 for the obese) So, on the average, you need P3,000 a month to see great results. If you see your getting thinner as an investment, then it's gonna be worth it.
Insert: The same friend also tried L'oreal Slimming Cream and it did work but with her consuming and craving for sweets every time, the inches lost are cancelled by the fat gained. Awww, the cream costs only around P605. Discipline on the other hand, is priceless.
Going back to the topic of DISCIPLINE, I envy Mel because her parents are helping her lose weight! In a nutshell, telling her what not to eat and encouraging her to go the gym and exercise! She might not like it but I appreciate it more than what my parents are doing. They're giving me everything I want and adding to my temptations!
For example, if in one of my craving moods, I look for chocolate, the next day, you'll see tons of chocolate bars at home! GRRRR! So I have to muster a LOT of self-discipline to keep me from hoarding all the chocolate. They don't make it easy for me! I just wish that if I suddenly crave for some fattening and unhealthy food, they'd say that I shouldn't coz it's bad for me and that I'd waste all the time, effort and money I've spent on my work out and my gym membership. And how I'm gonna lose a lot of modeling opportunities that would get me lots of extra money that I can invest in my future business.
See? The success of my future lies in how disciplined I am at present!
No Time to Read
Have you ever felt that you don't have time to read?
Everyday, I make it a point to scan through the newspaper and each day, I put aside spreads or pages where there are articles that I would like to read more thoroughly. But guess what? They're still piled up on one corner of my table, unread. All I get to read are the short chismis articles, sports, and the stories on the front page--and not their continuation on the inside pages.
I just feel that there are other things that I HAVE to read, like my philosophy, theology, history, thesis, newswriting, etc! Sigh. If only I could have all the time in the world to do things really meticulously, then i would. But i can't and they say that that's the challenge of time management and efficiency.
Minor Courses
Digressing a bit, my friend Nikki is all set to minor in History next semester and it made me think of the possibility, too. I checked the requirements but they're all too heavy for me--I should've started last year or at least this semester. Oh well. If ever, I 'd like to minor in Management subjects or Political Science, those kinds of stuff that make you use more of your analytical brain.
Not that Comm is for the stupid, but I find it quite easy. Maybe because I'm so used to it, I don't know. I just want to challenge my mind and make it grow and extend to depths I've never imagined.
On Editing
I'm suppoxed to edit my staffers work this weekend. I've just read one of the articles and I feel I need tips on how to edit. I didn't anticipate that not everyone would have the same writing level as my friends! No insult intended, I just mean that the writing style still needs guidance and tutelage in order to improve and become more diverse. It's not easy to be an editor! Help!

Like a Seasoned Reporter
Our newswriting teacher has asked us to go to a police station, get copies of daily police blotters and make a news article about it. Preferrably something tha hasn't come out in newspapers yet.
I guess its a dream come ture for someone who's really into becoming a news reporter, but me, I'm just plain confused and apprehesive.
I don't know why, but i have a stigma against authority figures especially policemen. I'm just scared of them and don't want to deal with them in any way possible. This is another one of the many many reasons why i'm confused on becoming a broadcast journalist....ARGH!
anyway, got to go, my CS teacher's here na...

Worms, Sex, and Drugs
Worm Magnet
I'm itching all over because of a higad that I speculate was attracted to might bright yellow top. It's odd that my three worm encounters on campus happened when I was wearing the exact same yellow top! Coincidence or maybe there's a scientific explanation? It doesn't matter actually, coz all I know is that it is soooo itchy and I musn't scratch lest my skin breaks out in little red spots…I still have yet to master the art of absolute self-control hehehe
Kobe Rape Case
The facts:
Kobe Bryant, a 24 year old NBA superstar with 5 multi-million dollar endorsements because of his clean image
A 19-year old hotel desk clerk accuses him of rape which supposedly happened when
Kobe was staying the hotel she was working at
Kobe admits to committing ADULTERY = consensual sex, not rape
Desk clerk brought food to Kobe's room during his stay--Al. Mendoza (Inquirer Sports Columnist) says its weird coz aren't waitresses or room service supposed to do that? I'd say it's weird, too.
As of now, I've heard that Nike has pulled out their endorsement contract with Kobe and so did the other companies he was endorsing…awwww
My verdict: Haha I dont' know. But it's kinda sad for the girl because every article I'm reading seems to favor Kobe's innocence. Sad to say, but I'm kinda leaning towards Kobe's innocence, too. There are just some types of girls who want to retaliate when they don't get what they want but then again I may be wrong,
Another thing that leans in favor of Kobe not being charged of rape are his highly credible and esteemed lawyers. The paper says the group has handled lots of other sports cases quite successfully. All in all, I think sports fans will and do favor Kobe's innocence…iba na talaga kung sikat ka, diba?
However, looking at it in the monetary angle, with the endorsements pulled out, it might as well be that Kobe was convicted of rape already. Sayang, naman. Quoting from Al Mendoza's comment, "For a few minutes of pleasure comes a lifetime of hell." Poor Kobe.
ATTENION! EMERGENCY!
IMO just texted me that there will be a military coup tonight and advised people to stay home. Her editor got the info from a friend in the PNP. She said it's no joke, this is serious.
Warning on date-rape complement drug
By Tim Yap, PDI, today
A "Forwarded" e-mail currently circulating warns about this new drug out for less than a year called Progesterex--a sterilization pill that is now being used by "horn dogs" (you know who you are) at parties to rape and sterilize their victims.
Progesterex, according to the e-mail, is used by veterinarians to sterilize large animals. Rumor has it that Progesterex is being used with Rohypnol, the date-rape drug.
As with Rohypnol, it is dropped into the prospective victim's drink and dissolves just as easily. The morning after, the girl, or guy, will not remember a thing about the night before.
Neither does the perpetrator have to worry about an eventual paternity test, because Progesterex makes the victim unable to conceive from the rape. In fact, the victim may be rendered unable to conceive, period.
The drug's effects, says the e-mail, are not temporary. Progesterex is allegedly used to sterilize horses; imagine its potency on a human female. Worse, anyone could get this drug from anyone in vet school That easy.
Progesterex threatens to break out big-time on campuses soon. There is even a site on the Internet telling people how to use it.
My comment: UGH. SICK SICK PEOPLE!

QUIZ
Romantic movie! You probably won't star in a porno
anytime soon. You seem to be really into the
whole "love" thing...romantic sex
with perfumed sheets and candles all over the
place. You're probably a hopeless romantic. You
value sex and respect your partner too much to
do anything like porn. AWWWWWW! <3
What kind of porno would you star in?

Thoughts of the Weary---ala IMO! hehehe
Unlike IMO'S Thoughts of the Weary, this is nothing deep and philosophical. Anyway, i'm weary coz i'm finishing my article of Guidon. Finishing what i can, that is. I still have to interview a dept. chair tom and san andres on thursday. Aargh! Interviewing officials isn't my favorite thing to do...wala lang
Then, i'm weary coz im having LBM. It started last Saturday up to now. Will i die? One of my dad's friends died because of continuous LBM. He didn't want to go the hospital and probably didn't take oral rehydration salts. Well, i did. And i took immodium and diatabs too. It's so hard to have weird and irregular movement...kitsch! just suddenly thought about that from Unbearable Lightness of Being. Well this is unbearable and makes me lighter when i dispose of it...hehehe
I guess i have to start transcribing an interview which i stupidly, accidently put on fast tape speed function or what i call the mickey mouse voice. Ciao!

The Laziness Bug is has started biting me. I've got sooo many assignments to do! So many articles and handouts to read, to memorize, to understand. Add to that a paper to write, an article to finish, school administrators and head to interview, topics to brainstorm, fashion shoots to coordinate, meetings to attend, basically, MY ENTIRE LIFE TO PUT IN ORDER!
But all i wanna do is lie down and watch TV. I wanna watch OLI play baskeball tomorrow, too.
Let's see if i can manage all of this! hahahaha

Tears In Heaven
by Eric Clapton
Would you know my name?
if I saw you in Heaven
Would it be the same
if I saw you in Heaven
I must be strong and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven
Would you hold my hand,if I saw you in heaven
\Would you help me stand,
if I saw you in heaven
I'll find my way through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven.
Time can bring you downTime can bend your knees
Time can break your heart
Have you beggin
please beggin please
Beyond the door, there's peace for sure
and I know there'll be no more tears in heaven.
Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven

Dilemma
I was all set to work for Smart at tomorow's UAAP opening. Work was for 4 hours, budget of 1,500 and it'll go on for 12 Saturdays. Not bad. Then i find out the attire. White top and Khaki shorts or skirt. I vowed never to wears shorts again after my very first ushering experience with Coca-Cola Musicola and here comes the problem again. Well, ok, since i'll be picking the shorts, i'll find a decent looking one.
But then, another text message comes and Smart will now provide the outfit. I asked if it was mini skirt or sexy shorts, then i couldn't do it. Reply? CHEERLEADING SKIRT! Whoa! Wait a minute. Aren't those super short and a-line that your underwear will show when u start skipping around?
To back out or not to back out? i COULDN'T DECIDE! Maybe i should try it out first? Maybe it's not that short....?
Then another friend calls. Am i available Sat and Sun for GLOBE for the UAAP? Wow!
Anyway, after giving it a lot of thought, i backed out of SMART and decided to join GLOBE. Yeah, the pay isn't as much as Smart's, it's less by P500, but hey, same working hours, more events and most importantly DECENT CLOTHING!
That's good enough for me! Besides it's just a sideline. One thing a veteran model advised me during my first time is never to be picky with the budget. If you can do it, if it's decent, then go, do it.
As long as you have the time, then there's nothing to lose and even more to gain!

GRABE! I was searching for the Celadon website on google and guess what else popped out along with a handful of matches? MY SITE! MY BLOG! OHMYGOD! I double checked my settings and the "Is this a public blog/" question was answered with a NO! Why oh why? I tried looking for help at blogger but only those who have blogger pro (those who pay) get personal support systems. It figures. Hmph. I don't want the whole world to read about my BLOG!
Hmmmm, i'm gonna tinker with computer stuff and figure out a way to counter this public blog thing. I remember that there's a script for passwords...
Well anyway, i've been very masipag lately. I've been doing my assignments on time, doing my Guidon article on time--meaning looking for contacts and researching and stuff NOT the day of the deadline hehehe. It hasn't been a month since school started...i hope this enthusiasm lasts! I've tried going to org meetings too but i'm really not the 4:30-6:00 type of person. I don't like late meetings esp now since my classes are mostly in the mornings.
Oh well. I'll figure how to work my sched around and protect my privacy on this blog! !!!

Wow, it's really been a long time since i've blogged and now there are all these changes! I was just gonna write something...whatever...in my blog and suddenly blogger tells me everthing that's bound to go wrong! Wonderful!
Anyway, i'm sorry if this post won't come out how it's supposed to be! My head hearts too much for me to add and edit the stuff blogger told me to hahaha
So what's up with me? Still surviving college life, it's my last year of studying yey! After my Theo exam where we were supposed to list down the 10 out of 11 points of Evangeli Nuntiandii, and my 2 part History exam with the deflating bonus question of List down the initial cabinet members of Aguinaldo with postions! I'm totally ready to take a break from school! hehehe No gym for me today, tinatamad ako eh....
I have a Facial VTR later though...well, i've got lots of blemishes from pimples but i'm still gonna waste my time and go to the VTR in MAKAti (FAR!) even though i know that it's like .00000000001 of a chance that i'd get in. SIgh.
Yesterday, i was depressed about not being able to get that Ushering job for Caltex at the Coffee, tea, beverage expo at Megatrade hall today, tom and sun. P2t per day! How sad...but i had theo and history exams and studies come first...well actually, if i didn't have exams, i'd cut class. Plain and simple. Haha.
There's also this wedding tomorow that i'm DREADING to attend. I don'l like attending family events....there's the generation gap for one and i just don't feel like i'm really part of it all. Angsty, but TRUE.
Oh, before i go i'd like to say that i think i've dug my own grave by having 4 writing orgs this year! Inquiry, theGuidon, Axis, ASEC, Chinoy, Celadon and AEA Magazine! It's either or actually: either i'll get low grades or won't pass my articles on time. Hehe, just being pessimistic.
