I'm feeling materialistic today...here's my materialistic wish list (both realistic and unrealistic)

1. Massage--swedish at Clark Hatch Palm Garden would do! (attainable: P360/480)
2. Technomarine watch (UNNECESSARY and horrendously expensive!)
3. Nokia 6600 (possible!)
4. Hair Spa (attainable! P850 at Jesi Mendez)
5. Jelly Kelly Bag (UNNCECESSARY and P7000!...there are class A imitations though)
6. New Make-up stuff (gradually)
7. Totally NEW Wardrobe (in the near future when i LOSE EXTRA POUNDAGE!)

Wow, I can't think of anything else! Hmm, more stuffed toys? hehehe
The material things pale in comparison to HAPPINESS for me and Oli, that's all i really need. I hope we'll be able to survive all the storms.....
Hey, it's fun to graduate, after all!

The graduation ceremony,of course, made me senti especially when we were signing the School Hym--the one we sing during UAAP games, too. Everyone's fist was up in the air, singing softly, singing their lungs out, singing the closing song that would finally mark that they have graduated. Huhuhuhu, i got goosebumps from the last chorus.

Anyways, after the ceremonies, Oli and i went to Eastwood--ate at Fazoli's and watched Cheaper by the Dozen in the nice cinema. I like the seats, they can be reclined--just a little over 90 degrees and it's a love seat, too! Cool!

Then, today, i ate at Tempura Grill at tomas morato with my family. Their the new competitior of Teriyaki Boy. The best part of course, was the receiving of gifts!

Here's everything i got!
1. Gym socks
2. 8x10 frame for my grad pic
3. Victoria's Secret Love Spell Body Spray
4. Nivea Skin Firming Body Cream with Q10 plus
5. L'oreal Hydrafresh Aquagel Moisturizer
6. Body Shop Shower gel in Green Apple and Strawberry
7. Marks and Spencer Classics Loose Powder (FINALLY!!!!)
8. Candies Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and a handy one for the purse

That's about it! Cool! I'm happy! I like receiving beauty stuff! hehehehe =)
Happy Graduation to me!

A Continuation of Rants

I figured that it's really hard for old dogs to learn new tricks. My parents can't seem to let go some part of their extravagant lifestyle before, and they expect me to help chip in when they're buying unnecessary stuff?

I came home and found a plastic bag full of JUNK FOOD hanging at the back of my door! I checked the contents and found Prawn chips, barbecue chips, blueberry cookies, and cheese chips! They were behind my door meaning that they were meant for me! What the hell are they thinking?

Here i am trying so hard to lose unwanted fat and poundage and they dangle these chips right in front of me? Not only is it insulting but also and clear and simple WASTE OF MONEY!

How much was spent in buying those chips? Dont' they realize that by buying those chips, they not only increased the supermarket expense but also ushered in the possibility of higher expenses as a whole?

Let's say i eat those chips and of course, that's more empty calories and added fat which would slow down my weight loss process and even bring me back a lot of steps from my goal. If my weight loss is slowed down then my need to buy diet and fat-reducing products would increase because i need to lose weight to get more lucrative modeling jobs. If i get fatter then i'll have less jobs. This is just a possibility of course, but still, THEY OPENED THE POSSIBILLITY!

Grrrrrr, they could've just used the money to pay for the other basic bills like electric, gas, phone, etc. I am annoyed...sooo annoyed...i can't believe it! Aren't parents suposse to act smarter? Is it called nurture when you keep on feeding cake to your overweight kid? (Just an example, haha)

Damn! Damn! Damn! LONG TERM GOALS AND PLANS! I want to tell this to my parents! Don't you have long term goals? Damn, now i know why i have such poor character!

I'm now starting to feel the BITTERSWEET reality of being employed...

I'm not really employed as the regular employees are since i my salary doesn't get bogged down with INCOME TAX, SSS, PAG-IBIG or whatever else that has something to do with the government. My talent agent has a cut of course, and whopping 50% at that! (It's supposed to be 30% maximum, but he's greeeeedy and we have noooo choice coz he monopolized all the projects of the company)

Anyway, what i wrote above is the sweet part coz i earn relatively a lot for 6 hours a day and i don't have to pay the taxes, eck eck.

The bitter reality is that i have to start helping out in the household expenses. I never really thought the day would come. I've always been the spoiled baby in the family since i have a 12++ year gap from my other siblings, so i always get what i want sans a lot of responsibilities.

I guess, now, that our family's having a financial crisis--which i foresee would last forever--i have to start chipping in. Boohoo! I'm still on my selfish-pamper-myself-stage in my life. But hey, what can i do right? I'm not as well-off as i was before. I wasn't even considered rich before, only that my family somehow carried on their extravagant lifestyle from way back in the 80s when they were still affluent. ("They" because i wasn't born yet).

So since i have a monthly paycheck and i did a lot of shifts for the month of March, my dad told me to help in the expenses by chipping in 5,000. I'm still in shock right now. I still can't believe it. This is really bad coz we must be really down and really that pennyless that I have to donate money already!

It's not that i never planned to chip in--i will, but i didn't think i had to already and so soon! I thought that i'd help out in the expenses when i get a stable job--permanent job, in other words.

Oh well, i guess it's about time I snap out of my dream bubble and live in the "real world"--which means, when your parents are both retired and unemployed, no money is coming in! Zilch, nada.
JUST SAY "NO!"

This article is taken from PDI, 3/23. Lifestyle Section, by Cory Quirino

"NO" is a spare and simple word that bears a powerful appeal simply because it so basic, so much used in our everyday language that we might have taken it for granted.

Here is a word that celebrates finality, an end to something that most certainly leads to another thing.

Over-committed

We live in an over-committed world filled with deadlines, quotas, goals, mission statements and self-fulfillment/gratification. Everyone has the "I must do/be/have" syndrome. And whether we are conscious or not, we are driven, compromised, and committed. There is no breathing space for the sane and the tranquil.

But there's hope. If we all learned to say no, then maybe life can be a little easier, our health a little stronger, our outlook a little perkier.

Say no, when . . .

The paragraphs in bold especially apply to yours truly! hehehe

• The scale shows you are 10 pounds beyond your ideal weight (i.e., if your usual 130 pounds is now 140 pounds, say no. Losing 10 pounds to get back on track is easier than shedding 30 pounds.)

• Your fridge is filled with sweets and desserts of varied flavors, shapes and sizes. Sugar not only contributes to weight problems but makes you vulnerable to illness.

• Your home, car, office and attache case have a handy bottle of your favorite alcoholic/soda drink. The best way to avoid temptation is to stay away from it. Moderation is the key to ensuring your pleasures do not become addictions.

• The people around you (family, friends, officemates) bombard you with negative energy all day/night. A way to find out is to check if you are mentally/emotionally exhausted when in the presence of someone. People with nothing nice to say about anything or anybody cannot contribute to your well-being; rather, they can cause ill health.

• You have been hot-tempered more than usual. Check yourself and do some serious soul searching why you are constantly angry. Remember, emotions have a biochemical effect on the body. Angry persons normally are prone to ulcers and heart disease/hypertension (high blood pressure).

• You have been out every night of the week and thoroughly in need of rest. Cut back on the late nights and take it easy.

• You have been sleepless or an insomniac for sometime now and don't know its cause. A deep-seated reason for your insomnia is locked away in your subconscious (unless you have a physical condition requiring medication whose side effect is restlessness).

• You depend on tranquilizers to be able to sleep. No matter how you look at it you have a drug dependency problem. Time to address your life issues.

• You look into the mirror and see an unhappy face staring back at you. Don't you think it's worth the time and effort to investigate the whys of your condition then do something about it? Didn't you know you have the right to be happy? It's your divine birthright.

• Your body aches and pains have been nagging you to go see a doctor. Stop procrastinating and make that important visit to your physician.

• Your food choices are sweet, salty, fatty/oily and plenty. When your food cravings are not healthy, it's time to say no and embrace a new lifestyle.

• Your plate is overloaded with food and you're only half-way through the "eat-all-you-can" buffet. A plateful of food is more than enough. No reason to grab another plate because you want your money's worth.

• You burped once and you're too stubborn to stop munching. Your stomach has a limit and your burp is the signal that there is no more space.

• You've been crying for the past four days over someone or something. Psychologists allow you to wallow in misery and self-pity for only 48 hours. After that, you have to snap out of it. Don't be the architect of your own misery. Life is much too precious to flood in tears.

• You find yourself neglected, exhausted and burnt-out. Start pampering yourself now. Time for yourself is precious.

'Yes' to yourself

Sit quietly in a corner and get a piece of paper. List down all the things you would like to say no to. Directly opposite list down the things you want to say yes to. Affirm: "I say no to welcome yes in my life. Yes to love, health, wealth and joy. And this is so."

Health tonic

Instead of a sandwich for snacks, have a handful of black grapes and a cup of fennel tea. The combination works as a liver tonic and cleanses you thoroughly. Make it a weekly habit.

I feel deflated.

An agent texted me last night asking if i was available for an ushering work today, 2K pay after at Rockwell Center.

Of course i was available!

So i told her at once and she instructed me to call up the client to inform him or something. So i did and he wanted me to email my picture to him.

No prob.

On second thought, Did i have MMS?, he asked.

Nope, i didn't, so email na lang.

I thought everything was okay already and was thinking of what all black outfit i was gonna wear. Then, i felt weird coz the agent didn't text me again, so i confirmed around 12noon if we were on for later.

She repiled, "No, the client already chose from the go-c last night, sorry, work with you next time..."

Awwwwww. I feel like someone got a needle and burst my dream bubble.

I was feeling so lucky last night coz i had a lot of work this week, never mind that my they were cutting 10% off from my Shell TF--some bidding process of agencies thingie that i don't really get.

Anyway, i was thinking if i was blessed, and maybe i should pray and thank God or something.

I forgot to, actually.

You think that could be the reason that i didn't get the work? Or am i just superstitious or whatever you call it?

Hmmmm, whatever.
