For MARCH 7: I'm feeling depressed right now and it's ALWAYS bad when that happens....

I will think of happy thoughts and the first thing that comes to mind is the movie Something's Gotta Give! Oli and i watched it yesterday (Saturday) at Galleria, LMF. I felt that it was superb, especially after watching Torque right before (no story, just like a prolonged Fast Lane TV series) and Duplex last Tuesday. (bad script, bad ending)

Jack Nicholson plays Harry, a 63-year-old rich bachelor who is fond of dating girls twice as young as he is.

Diane Keaton, plays Erica, also around the same age as Nicholson is, who is a divorced playwright and very very uptight!

They meet because Harry is dating Erica's daughter. Of course, the two oldies don't get along right at the start but when Harry gets a heart attack and has to recuperate in Erica's house, the two are forced to "live" with each other.

Aside from the complication of Harry being a womanizer and Erica being too strong-willed and uptight for her own good, Erica also falls for Harry's doctor (Keanu Reeves) who is 20 years younger than she is!

It's a very interesting and extremely hilarious movie. Nicholson and Keaton definitely work very well together--the chemistry is so obvious and they're so at ease with each other that it doesn't seem like they're filming a movie. The movie is so engrossing and the acting is so real that at one point i totally forgot that i was just watching a movie!

One review i read, however, pointed out that although "the movie had potential, it took the commercial way out." Hmmm, i wonder what the reviewer meant by that?! I must be so used to the "commercialization" that i don't even recognize it at all!

Whatever that meant, the movie is still worth watching!
